Taking Time to Enjoy
My life has always been focused on doing things. There are tasks to be done, projects to be completed and goals to be achieved. I've realized that my busy-ness can be a way I have to mask what's really going on for me. A focus on doing things keeps me in my head and can blind me to being present and enjoying. Of course, not all busy-ness is bad. Like most things in life it's not a simple yes/no issue. My busy-ness allows me to get a lot of tasks done. I have a good sense of accomplishment when my day is done. At the same time, I'm aware that it can be hard for me to slow down, savor and take some time off. The thing I need to be aware of is to be sure to take care of myself during all this activity. It's ironic, because this is the same advice I give to many clients - take care of yourself. Yes, I really do need to listen to my own advice! So, I've been thinking a lot lately about what I like to do for fun. How do I get away and enjoy a relaxing day? I've found it hard to do this. I get stuck in my head that a day of fun costs too much, or it would prevent me from getting goals finished. Yes, getting out, relaxing, putting work aside and enjoying life is important to everyone. I invite you to take a look at how you have fun. Do you get enough down time? Are you taking care of your body? How's your diet? Yes, I'd love everyone to get a massage, and there are many ways to take care of yourself that are free. Take a few nice deep breaths. Go for a walk. Take a nice bath. I'm making it a focus to take at least a few minutes each day for something fun. Of course, if you would like a nice, relaxing massage...

Exploring Mindful Self-Loving If you're like many men, you learned self-pleasure at a young age and haven't really changed your ways since then. In fact, most men get stuck in a repetitive and predictable habit - often learned when we were younger - of merely relieving sexual tension. Much more is possible. Join a circle of men for conscious, open-hearted erotic education and practice. We will focus on developing our self-pleasuring skills for personal growth, self-awareness and spiritual evolution. Mindful self-love is about transformation: not changing into something else, but becoming what you already are in your core essence. Learn to generate erotic energy from within and explore heightened states of erotic ecstasy. Using a combination of conscious breath, movement, partnered touch, self-touch and ritual we will explore ways to enhance our self-pleasuring practices. We meet the first Monday evening of each month at Heartwalker Studio in Oakland. You can find our more at www.sacredtouchformen.com/mindful_self_loving.php. I look forward to seeing you there! Have fun! Ed Copyright © 2009. Sacred Touch for Men. All rights reserved. |
